user18 · 27/01/2026 03:23

Pench? Really?

Me too 😝

Is it so hard to just write pension, instead of sounding like someone who’s not even old enough to have one?

SpidersAreShitheads · 27/01/2026 03:52

I actually thought this was a weird health question.

Disappointed to learn that pench is just a shit word for pension.

user18 · 27/01/2026 03:52

Pench isn’t even an abbreviation of pension. Surely it would be Pense or at a push Pensh

MrMischief · 27/01/2026 03:54

“Pench” 🤣

Bjorkdidit · 27/01/2026 03:59

I'm just here for the outrage at pench.

But I don't understand the post either.

Do you only want people who earn £37k to answer?

Are you including employers contributions or just employees?

What is the point of the post without context? Someone who is 50, mortgage free but without much of a pension should be paying in far more than a 22 YO who is paying rent and looking to save for a house deposit.

suburberphobe · 27/01/2026 04:04

Pench......?!

Can you not write proper English?

😅

Weird post with zero context.

covilha · 27/01/2026 04:09

op, sorry your thread has been hijacked by people determined not to answer questions.
the tps is generous,
a teacher pays in about 9% and employer 27 and tax rebates as well
I also have a private pension that I try to add about£100 a month in case I want to retire early

youalright · 27/01/2026 04:10

Wow you've just created a really irritating word, do you say pench in real life 🤣🤣

Sofado · 27/01/2026 04:19

I earn 37k. I put in 25%. Private sector. Employer puts in the legal minimum only.

Happyhappyday · 27/01/2026 04:55

I put in £1500/month and so does DH. We live abroad and that’s the legal max. Employer puts in 5%, or about £6k/year. We put away additional
money into non pension investments we don’t touch.

40andnotsofabulous · 27/01/2026 04:58

21% total for pension.

Rather than look at how much people earn, would be better to ask age of person and % they are saving.

@TheIcyAquaFawn you made my day.

SliceofTosst · 27/01/2026 05:08

DeftGoldHedgehog · 27/01/2026 05:21

8% and employer the same.

Akils · 27/01/2026 05:24

100% infuriated by the word pench

fouroclockrock · 27/01/2026 05:28
