Verbal Offer - when would you worry?

I had a verbal job offer from a recruiter last week but I have not had it from the company in writing yet. The same day they asked for my address and start date availability. When would you expect written confirmation? I would love to give my notice in so getting a bit impatient!

Have you been clear with them that you will not be handing in your notice until you have a formal written offer? If not, I would do that asap.

In my organisation that process will take weeks.
