Vinted Rant - Buyers Not Collecting

scaredfriend · 26/01/2026 13:03

I’ve had a bit of a clear out since Christmas and popped a load of things on Vinted. Out of the 20 sales I’ve had in the last fortnight, 5 of the items have been returned to me because the buyer couldn’t be arsed was unable to collect from the locker / parcel shop on time.
As I understand it, the buyer gets a full refund without penalty whereas I have the hassle of relisting the item and taking it to the drop-off point for a second time. I can’t leave negative feedback for the buyer either as the sale just gets cancelled when the item is returned.
Have I just been unlucky or is this a thing where buyers change their mind and just wait for a refund?

It’s happened to me a few times too. It’s frustrating for sure. I feel like there should be an option to leave feedback, even if it’s neutral, just so you can say “buyer never picked up the parcel”

Unfortunately, I’ve experienced both sides, as a buyer and seller. It’s happened so many times where I’ve purchased something from a seller and they’ve just not bothered to send me it (no communication either) They get a week to send! I always leave negative feedback in this case.

Yep.. so bloody irritating.

its only happened once to me so far, but I never received the item back! It just says ‘order suspended ’ on the app. This was from back in November so it’s obviously been lost somewhere along the way.
I can’t be arsed to try and track it fown as it was a fiver, but it’s still really bloody annoying. If it was a more valuable item, I’d be raging!

Presumably you have paid for postage, so will you lose out on that or is it refunded?
If not that’s terrible it’s costing you to list on vinted.

Yes you get the postage refunded but not the time or expense to do two wasted journeys to send the item. Not everyone has postage lockers or a post office on their doorstep.

I have been in the situation where the parcel arrived at the locker right at the start of 3 very busy days where I was not going to be in that part of town. I managed to get to the locker, but it meant getting stuck in rush hour traffic to do so. I can therefore understand how life can get in the way of collecting a parcel. Ideally I would want a parcel delivered towards the end of the week or at the weekend, so I have a choice to pick it up on a weekday or weekend day. 3 days is quite tight if that's 3 midweek days.

I have also had the issue where Inpost delivered the parcel to the locker, but failed to send me a collection code or enable me to open the locker with the app When they did send a code it didn't work. I did however keep the seller informed. It was very frustrating as I had bought the item to wear for a specific occasion.

It is bad luck though if several parcels in a row have not been collected. Could you try changing the day you drop them off to see if that improves the collection rates?
