Things that make you feel mildly depressed (semi light hearted)

Unusual things that make me feel oddly down or depressed
Industrial areas and the thought of working in a factory (my mum did and I did a few times on my breaks from uni etc and it evokes a real depressing feeling)
Loud music in a car going past before I've got up say at like 7am - thinking what time that person must have had to get up and out in the cold
Long bus commutes to work, specifically busses not trains or cars

Do you have any?

Underground car parks. As soon as my dh drives into one I’m immediately irritated and depressed.

Every Sunday afternoon being ruined by the knowledge I have work on Monday morning.

Certain buildings, usually in a Victorian gothic style give me shivers and leave me with a sad/depressed feeling. One in particular made my stomach drop driving past.

Tower blocks, I feel immensely sorry for anyone living in them. They are ugly as sin from the outside and look like hell on earth to live in.

Walking past a beautiful Victorian building in my town. It's a solicitors' practice now but I remember a dentist's surgery there and he did fillings without anaesthetic. I still remember the pain.

Big shopping malls like Westfield, I avoid them like the plague.
The way the house feels when it’s just been de- Christmas’d, sort of empty and flat.
The first day back to work after a sunshine holiday. Within an hour it’s as if it never happened. Best solution I’ve found is to book another one!

Going out in the evening. Grin

I know it’s because I’m old and boring now but god, can’t think of anything more depressing. Going out for meals and drinks in the daytime OTOH, love that.

Driving on the M5 through West Midlands- don’t do it often but boy is it a depressingly awful stretch

I love walking my dogs but oh this weather, I’m always mildly depressed at having to wash them down to get the mud off twice a day. But the dogs are happy so it equals it all out.
I also hate the big shop every week.

I'm at an age now where I'm resentful of any activity that stops me being in my pyjamas by 7pm.
