Looking for cheap walking pad to help build up my health, are they a waste of money or a good purchase?

Until a couple of years ago I had a really lovely expensive treadmill which I used on a daily basis but had to sell it as I needed the space and it was a very large gym type treadmill and due to some health issues I no longer have the energy to run.

However, I do really miss it, for walking on. We don't have the space for such a big treadmill now and I can't afford to go to the gym and due to my health issues I wouldn't always feel well enough to go to a gym anyhow.

I keep seeing these ads for walking pads and they look ideal for my needs.

I do get out for walks everyday with my dog but I'm looking for something that I could just pull from from under the bed and use on a daily basis to get some extra steps in and help build up my energy (I am on a quest this year to get better). I feel that a walking pad may be ideal as I just want to walk on it, I have no interest or energy to jog/run, I just want to move my body.

Does anyone have one of the cheaper walking pads and are they any good?

I'm surprised by how quiet mine is. I'm in a flat and use it on a rug. My neighbours say it doesn't disturb them.

Hello, I’m also on a mission to find a walking pad. I was looking at DeerRun vs WalkingPad but I hadn’t considered leg length til reading this thread. Im only about 5ft 2 but would share with someone around 5ft 10. I also have very limited storage space. Can I just use a dining chair next to it to hold onto if needed? Would love to hear back from the op to know how they are getting on with their new purchase!

I have one and keep it propped up in a corner all the time. I figure I can either sit on the sofa and watch TV or I can do some walking and watch TV. If you’re easily fatigued, it’s ideal because if you start to lose energy, you switch it off and regroup - no need to turn around and head home (as you would if you were out). Bought mine on Amazon and paid around £130 for it.

As another PP said, if your balance isn’t great, better get one with a holding bar. I was recently walking while watching a gripping programme, lost my balance and I nearly fell off. 😂

@Stonecoldhandswarmheart how did it go with the walkingpad a few months on? Are you getting good use out of it as I'm looking into buying one and would really appreciate any feedback you might have, thanks.

I love it, I use it several times a week.

I'll be honest though and not sure if this is the case for most walking pads but it's not as light and easy to fold and tuck away as they make out on Tik Tok and the like, mine is really quite heavy so I have left it set up in my bedroom but it's still not as large and cumbersome as the Reebok treadmill I used to have (although that was a great piece of kit).

All in all I am pretty happy with it, I have situated it right in front of my TV so I just stick on YouTube and walk fast to music videos.
