Wasn’t fully open and the stuff still feels cold but not as cold as when it’s fully refrigerated

Do I need to throw anything just as I’ve been shopping as well such a stupid thing to do

I wouldn’t throw anything anyway, but I would smell the meat before I used it (if there’s meat in there!). But I’m also not massively precious about use by dates etc, so I’m definitely on the lax side. Other people may be along to disagree

It’ll be fine, I wouldn’t throw anything away!

What was in your fridge? I'd only really be cautious of raw meat and seafood. Or anything that was on the turn - any yellow sticker stuff you bought

All your fruit, veg, eggs, butter, packaged snack stuff will be fine.

Stuff in the door will have got warmer than the stuff on the shelves, so give the milk a sniff!

MatchaTea1 · 24/01/2026 22:45

I'm sure it's all fine, you will be able to smell anything that's gone off, but I doubt anything will have after 24 hours and the door only slightly open.

I agree, the only thing to worry about is meat and seafood.
My fridge starts bleeping after being left open for less than a minute.
