Is it a good film for a younger teen teen?

I loved it! Very sad, particularly if you’re a parent. No reason why a teen couldn’t appreciate it; might be useful if an adult could point out the various Shakespeare references.

I was bored to tears

There’s a thread on the Films board — check there. Personally, from only having read the novels years ago, I’d say it would be a deeply sad, possibly rather harrowing watch. My 13 year old wouldn’t enjoy it.

Saw it last week. Didn't find it harrowing or tears inducing at all.

I wouldn’t bother a young teen with it. There is a real concern that it will become some sort of fact in English lit exams!

I really enjoyed it, but it is quite slow and there are some "sensitive" topics so I'd say how young is young teen, what's their disposition etc? It's likely to be upsetting or boring, so I'd probably pick something else

Thank you! We enjoyed it. It was slow in places, but also very good. I enjoyed it and never got bored.

my daughter said she had a few tears, but overall she didn’t get bored, thankfully.
