Okay so I feel semi-tragic even asking this, but does anyone here mix music? I've always loved edm and started trying to make my own mixes. I literally have no one to talk to about it... Would love to get some tips or generally chat about it.

DS does (DJs at club nights and parties) but he doesn’t hang out on Mumsnet! I can ask him if there are any other chat forums though?

I use Beatport quite a lot which is a platform for DJs & producers (don’t mix but v interested in dance music generally) and they’ve got a thing called Beatportal which I think is geared more towards people who are actively involved, which might be worth a look.

Good luck with it - it’s an awesome hobby and brilliant fun if you get good enough to start doing gigs. I’m in awe of DS when I watch him, and get vicarious pleasure as well as mum pride, because I’d love to have done it myself and wish I’d had the confidence. Too much of an auld gimmer now though!
