Sickness and moving house tomorrow - this is not good

We move house tomorrow. Big day, been a stressful build up.

DD in with me tonight, sharing a mattress. She's just been sick, everywhere. Bedding and her nightwear, absolutely covered in vomit.

We have no spare bedding or towels. Everything is packed.

Cleaned her up and we've moved to another room, I've cobbled together a makeshift bed, but oh god. This is spectacularly awful timing! She can't go to school tomorrow but there's literally nowhere for her to lie down until we get to the new house.

Gutted as it took us so long to get here via many obstacles, we were so excited and now this.

And of course I'm starting to feel unwell now...

Oh nooooooooooooo. I hope you both feel better tomorrow. Confused

Try to get some sleep if you can, and sit down when you can in the morning.

No advice at all sorry. I really hope you are OK in the morning! Flowers

Thank you @Zov for replying! I appreciate it. She's just vomited again so I'm calling it - it's a bug.

I've resigned myself to a bad night and am just focusing on her. My DH, DF and DS are seemingly fast asleep in other rooms, most convenient for them!

She obviously can't go to school tomorrow, so we'll just have to bundle her up somewhere while we do the moving. Just hoping if I get it, we are all moved in!

Oh no! If it's awful tomorrow could you take her to a hotel room or something while your husband deals with the house move?

We had to divide and conquer when we moved as we couldn't both get time off. I was at work on packing day, and DH was at work on moving day. No one was throwing up though.

Fingers crossed for you staying well.

BigHoops · 23/01/2026 00:11

Oh that's a point actually! My DF will be staying in a hotel tomorrow night so she could go there with him, he won't mind I think. Didn't think of that thank you @Shuufty

Yeah it's a stressful process and at least DH and I did have time off together, that must have been bad for you! DH only just recovering from injuring his back really badly, so this feels rather unfair but it is what it is...

Worth asking for an early check in if needed. Good luck! It'll be worth it in the end.

Zov · 23/01/2026 10:04

How are you all today @BigHoops Flowers

YourBrickTiger · 23/01/2026 10:09

Could it be nerves?

Crunchymum · 24/01/2026 15:49

Hope everything went well with the house move in the end and that DD is all recovered now @BigHoops ?
