Sinus infections

My 6 year old gets sinus infections from swimming. It's such a shame because she is a brilliant swimmer. We've tried nose clips but they don't help. She also gets impacted ear wax from the chlorine too. Does anyone have any advice on how or if she could continue swimming?Seems a shame to give it up.

I would see if you can get a referral to a paediatric ENT. It may be that she has large adenoids or ears that don’t drain well and they can advise you what to do.

FWIW I had to give up swimming because of constant sinus infections and problems with my ears. In the end it wasn’t worth it

if you’re near the coast, sea water swimming is fine (though I realise you can’t do this all year round in this country)

Thanks for your replies. I stopped her from swimming for 6 months and then took her to a different pool to see if she would be affected and she came out with a sinus infection so I know it's definitely chlorine. We took her to see ent after a year of waiting they removed the wax and it hasn't come back since because she hasn't swam. Ent said they wouldn't look at anything but her ears so we are on another year waiting list for another ent sinus issue rather than ears! On holiday she went in the pool every day and didn't have 1 issue with her sinuses. I'm wondering if they may have used a different chemical...

I've actually just searched enlarged adenoids and it would explain her mouth breathing, nasely sounded speaking, frequent colds and ear wax. I'll ask at ent when we next get to see them. Thanks for this.
