My reflux baby has been on gaviscon sachets since 6 weeks old. I have been giving one sachet every feed although you can give 2 sachets per feed. It was working really well until a few days, not baby is being sick after every feed again! Do you think 2 sachets are needed or should I speak to GP?

Hi! My baby has been prescribed gaviscon sachets since 4/5 weeks old, is 10 months now. They’ve worked fantastically well with no issues at all. It they’re not working for your baby, I’d definitely speak to the gp again, as it may be something else causing the issue with your baby.

edited to add - tried using more than one sachet once. It made her really constipated.

How many feeds a day is baby having? There is a max number of sachet a day and increasing may cause constipation. How old is baby now? Have you considered cmpa?

Baby is now four months, I think it’s 12 sachets maximum a day & currently she’s having about 6 feeds a day on average. No I haven’t, will look into that actually.

Hey my baby ended up being prescribed omeprazole by the hospital, she also has cows milk protein allergy which was making things worse, so I also had to change my diet as was breastfeeding. Definitely worth speaking to the GP. Hope little one settles soon
