I’ve just listened to Marina Hyde’s bonus episode on The Rest Is Entertainment. All this was hinted at when she and Richard Osman had a longer discussion about The Beckhams “living their life out loud “ back in May 2025. Marina hinted at these events coming to the fore because the Beckham publicity machine was showing a few cracks ( largely because BB wasn’t playing ball)

I’ve not got much sympathy for Nicola because i suspect she’s a spoilt princess. I do feel some sympathy for Brooklyn. What he said in his post about growing up with anxiety rang true for me because he knows he’s not talented or clever, but as a result he’s never been comfortable being himself ( either to fail or succeed ). He has always been scrutinised in the public forum because of the Beckham Brand but has had no voice of his own. He’s found it now ( i suspect he’s had therapy ) I’m not sure about his wife and he may have married a self-centred bossy woman because that’s all he knows. He is finding his way and the marriage may not last. I did the same thing. I had a domineering father and married a narcissistic and controlling man. It’s only know 20 years aftyer our divorce that i can see what was going on in my upbringing and subsequent marriage.
Money is nothing. Relationships matter.

I imagine VB thought she was very important and did'nt like it when another woman replaced her in her sons life and got more influence on him than she has. She's got 2 other sons hasn't she? Be interesting to see how that goes when they get wives.

I predict Elizabeth Hurley goes the same way when her son gets married too.

Whatever happens in families airing the dirty laundry online is never a good idea. Petulance springs to mind, however nobody can really know what happens in a family at war and there are two sides to that war, as yet only one side has whinnied online. I expect all this will die down in a few days anyway.

It’s horrible to say he’s not talented or clever. We don’t know that and even if it’s true, it’s true for lots of people. They just get normal jobs and lead a normal life but it’s impossible for him to do that. But when he tries to do something for himself, like photography or cooking, he gets roundly mocked. What exactly is he meant to do that would satisfy everyone?!

Most kids grow up not talented or clever. They don’t marry billionaires of have multi million air parents. I can’t fathom sympathy for someone as privileged as BB.

I agree, unless there’s more to come out. I’ve never had any time for the Beckham Publicity Machine. Why do people want to expose their lives for us all to gawp at ? So sad and so empty.

It wasn’t in any way impossible for him to get a normal job, he chose to try to be an influencer/ photographer/ chef. Gordon Ramsey’s kid is a police officer.

I understood perfectly what you meant OP, pay no attention to others, they are likely well BB'd out by now.
What you said about BB marrying Nicola because she was domineering and bossy might be true, I don't think any of us know what she's like as there doesn't seem to be much information on her out there, perhaps she too prefers to keep her private life just that.
None of us know if their relationship will last, I hope so for their sakes.
He very likely has had therapy, which with the support of his wife, has given him the strength to call his family out publicly.
What you say about a lot of people choosing to be in a relationship with partners that exhibit the same kind of negative traits as someone close to them, rings true.
You can see and understand this from your own experience.
Money is only important when you don't have enough of it.
Between the two families there's so much of it, but it will not make them any happier, anyone who has lived this way knows that.
If one is fortunate enough to have found someone who is loving, and supportive and stays that way through the years, it is far more valuable than having more money than you can use.

I’ve never followed the Beckhams so have no idea how much they did or didn’t put their children in the spotlight. It just sounds like Brooklyn is doing a Prince Harry. He’s got zero concept of his priveleged upbringing. Why didn’t he go to university or actually study the things he’s passionate about? Why didn’t he learn how to be a good photographer or chef? If that’s what he wanted to do. He sounds deeply ungrateful and a bit pathetic really. I feel so sorry for his parents. Why did he have to vent his spleen in public? Like Harry he says he hates the press and publicity but then everything he does is in the press and done publicly. I don’t get it!
