School shoes

Curious as to which school shoes your DC have and how long they last. Think both DD and DD need new school shoes so will take them to Clark’s at the weekend, DS usually gets the dinosaur ones and DD usually the seahorse ones and they always last until outgrown. What does your DC have and how long do they last? Tempted to see if they want something different this time but equally I want them to last!

Used to get Clarks for my child yes. And yes she's had the seahorse ones. Unfortunately even the Clarks shoes are no good for her now. I've come to the conclusion it's sensory issues. So the last ones were barefoot shoes

Clarks always lasted at least 6 months. By that time either they'd worn out (which I don't mind after that time considering she's very active and wore them outside of school as well) or she'd grown out of them and needed a new size.

I did try other shops but they always lasted something stupid like a month so it was a false economy

Sainsbury's the last 3 years. Each pair lasted the whole academic year.

I used to buy Clark's for my DDs and they lasted until DD1 outgrew them and then the younger one grew into them so we had 2 wears out of most pairs and passed those on to a younger neighbour. Sometimes they grew out of them and a second pair was necessary in the spring/summer.

DDs are now teens and I passed on all their smaller shoes since mostly there was still plenty of wear in them.

Sometimes we bought Russel & Bromley, often the US brand Stride-Rite, and those lasted well too.
