Because I was working abroad (two weeks away, one week home) for six months to pay off our recent wedding. We worked for the same company. He knew exactly where I was, who I was with, why I was there and could get in touch with me at any time.

Because my Dad was seriously ill in hospital for months involving me spending a lot of time there with him after work and the poor lamb was feeling *lonely and neglected.

*He may not have been quite so lonely had he not refused to look after our 6 year old meaning every evening she had to come and sit with her poorly Grandpa watching him learn to speak and feed himself again but that’s another story.

Because she reminded him of me when I was younger. I was 24.
