Are you in pain? Where?

I am having a high pain day, my hip and legs hurt (recovering from surgery in November), my back hurts, my shoulders, collar bones, arms, elbows and wrists hurt. My thumb hurts, the top of my back hurts. My right ankle is sore.

I don’t think I’ve got a day in my life pain free, I assume on some level that’s normal, we are all just in pain and pushing through it all.

come have a moan about your pain with me!

Shooting pain right up the arse, feels like I've been hit be lightening momentarily and I involuntary punch up towards the sky when it happens, like an uppercut. Most get it seen to before I knock someone out

@YelramBob that sounds very, very hard. I’m sorry.

My knees are always niggly, and have been since I was 15. I also have pustular psoriasis on my hands, which is in the middle of a flare up, so itchy and ouchy. And to top it off, I have toothache.

I have arthritis and tendonitis in my hip, which wakes me up in the night most nights. I've had a cortisone injection, which didn't work, and I'm now having physio.

I can't remember the last time I had a day where I wasn't in pain, it's relentless, and it's been like this for a good few years.

Most days I'm alright about it, but some days, like today, I could honestly chuck it all in. I won't, of course, but my god it wears you down.

Sending hugs to all in pain, it’s miserable especially this time of year, I totally get it. I have fibromyalgia, and frequently post shingles neuralgia. What helps me is exercise, even when it hurts and my energy is low. Light weights, yoga, 15 minutes on the exercise bike, it helps and all adds up. History of osteoporosis in my family, so trying to stall/prevent that. Also struggle to stay warm, fell far less achy in the summer. I wear thermal base layers, use hot water bottles, usually in an oodie at home. Long hot shower, CBD cream on painful joints, hot water bottle. Try to avoid painkillers, sometimes resort to co codomol when I can’t get on top of the pain. Hugs💐

Yes, my knee, right abdomen and shoulder

Fibroids feel like they are burning a hole in my abdomen right on my hip tonight. I know sugar won't help but I have decided to demolish a bag of Percy Pigs and contemplate why we are told fibroids don't hurt while wondering if this will be one day a meme about how shite female healthcare was in 2026.

My bottom hurts! I have perianal Crohn's disease and my fistula is playing up. Can't get comfy and paracetamol isn't doing a thing for it. Hard to tell people that in real life, so nice to be able to offload as to the real cause of my discomfort here!

Orthopaedic surgeon suggesting it is trochanteric bursitis, but is reserving judgement pending an MRI.

Does anyone know if a hip MRI is done feet first or head first? I'm claustrophobic and need sedating for the latter, but might cope without drugs for the former!

That's what I have, though no MRI was needed to diagnose, physiotherapist diagnosed it based on where the pain was and what movements worsened it and how I stood and walked.

Its amazing how many things don't hurt when they only happen to women

I've seen 3 physios - two private, one NHS - and no one has mentioned it! It's been 3 years now, and I'm in ribbons most days. So conservative treatment has failed and I'm expecting to be told a steroid injection is next.

What did you do? Did it resolve?

Xray also shows mild hip dysplasia (I didn't mention that!), so MRI is also to ID any arthritis in the ball joint and inform next steps ie does it need an arthroscopy.

Oh wow that's pretty poor of the physios but perhaps the hip dysplasia confused matters so they couldn't be so sure of the cause.

I only got diagnosed last week, I'm doing daily exercises to try and fix it, along with voltaren gel for the pain. They would have given me the steroid injection straight away but I might have a stomach ulcer so the doctor the physio consulted considered it too big of a risk now, but if there's no improvement by the end of the month I can maybe get it then. Next physio appointment is on the 9th and I'm hoping I'll have improved by then as I have had very good experience with physiotherapy exercises before (post pregnancy back issues left me almost unable to walk but physiotherapy exercises got me pain free in the end)
