Has anyone seen his recent statement on Instagram? I actually feel very sorry for him.

It’s his voice, but obviously drafted by lawyers.
That’s who Nicola’s family are. Super-wealthy.
The Beckhams are real nobodies, to them…
I think this is what really pinches Dave & Vicky.
This does remind me of Megxit. Nuclear option.
Brooklyn has seen another life, he’s over & out.

TiggerAndHobbes · 19/01/2026 20:21

It’s a similar dynamic from the outside. I mean, we’re gossiping about famous people 🤷‍♀️

Yup two rich talentless privileged men making airing their dirty laundry in public whilst claiming they just want a quiet family life.

CremeCarmel · 19/01/2026 20:23

I have always liked him. We might have laughed at some of his attempts to find gainful employment but at least he tried. I believe him. DB looks as though his real character is seeping out of him and distorting his looks as he gets older. I can’t stand him.

Can someone explain the name thing to me ?

I think it's related to this.

https://www.cnbc.com/2022/02/24/authentic-brands-group-takes-majority-stake-in-david-beckhams-firm.html

In 2022 David Beckham sold a substantial share in his business to Authentic Brands and a substantial part of the value of the business is the Beckham name.

Authentic Brands Group takes majority stake in David Beckham's brand

Authentic Brands Group announced it has entered into a partnership to co-own and manage David Beckham's global brand.

Please remember this is a real family. They’re very rich but that won’t stop the upset and pain.

Agree..sad situation for the whole family whatever actually happened.

So they didn't have his parents on the top table, not unheard of but I think it is fairly mainstream to have parents there. I wonder where her parents were? I can imagine it being hurtful for one set of parents to be there and not the other. I can't see any mention of it.

He says each set of parents had their own tables either side of BB & NP’s table. They asked their grandmothers to join them on their table as both were there alone (grandfathers passed away I assume).

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 19/01/2026 20:24

An expensive education and privileged lifestyle will open doors and provide social opportunities but if you feel commodified instead of loved that’s years of therapy

Frankiecat2 · 19/01/2026 20:25

I feel really sorry for all of them actually.

There are always two sides. But we’ll probably only hear one side.

But (going by the responses on this thread) everyone will believe this whole thing even with no actual proof.

BatchCookBabe · 19/01/2026 20:25

Gosh, I bet he and Prince Harry would get on well .... 😬

All very weird and disturbing stuff. Is it true? I reckon some of it is.

Three sides to every story.

His side.

Their side.

The actual truth.

I hope he and Nicola are OK - but Brooklyn has burned all his bridges here.

berlinbaby2025 · 19/01/2026 20:26

Onefortheroad25 · 19/01/2026 20:17

Was absolutely sure he would mention it. That would be the ultimate fuck them under the bus moment.

I'm no PR expert but the statement would I think have been very carefully worded ('inauthentic relationships') and that possibly directly mentioning the alleged affairs could have backfired for Brooklyn - perceived as being spiteful? Instead DB and VB now know that Brooklyn could very well tell all and it' may have frightened them into thinking the whole house of cards could come fall. The power balance has now shifted I think is one of the implicit and deliberate messages from the statement.

Rituelec · 19/01/2026 20:26

I believe him.

HollyGolightly4 · 19/01/2026 20:26

It's very interesting 🤔.

I remember Brooklyn Beckham being born, I was about the right age to just have an awareness of celebrity culture, and not old enough to be critical. They were everywhere, and they made sure he was everywhere too.

I think the David Beckham doc was interesting, it showed a lot of it.

I also think it's different to Harry, although there's some easy comparison points - Harry was a prince and to a certain extent it is to be expected that he was in the spotlight, Brooklyn Beckham was a choice made by his parents.

peacefulpeach · 19/01/2026 20:26

MidWayThruJanuary · 19/01/2026 20:07

Jesus - why does Harry have to be brought into this!!!

The parallels are remarkable.

LadyBlakeneysHanky · 19/01/2026 19:20

What is all the stuff about signing away the rights to his name, before marriage? How would that work?

The Beckhams have always seemed to me so shallow and vain and grasping and fake. The poor lad’s complaints really do have the ring of truth against that background.

Imagine being persecuted by your family so publicly. And what an awful childhood behind all the posed photo opportunities! They probably didn’t even bother to take him to stately homes….

Your stately homes comment is epic 👏😂

Boododedoop · 19/01/2026 20:22

The parents both had their own tables equal distance away from the top table

But random nannies at the top table? Surely both sets of parents at the top table plus best man, etc and rest of the close families on adjacent tables. Then friends etc.

MissCooCooMcgoo · 19/01/2026 20:26

Good for him!

Fake fuckers.

Pretty much anything you hear about any celeb is true. It's just those who have good PR manage to bury it.

Bruisername · 19/01/2026 20:27

Having been to a few American weddings it doesn’t seem unusual for the parents to have their own tables with family/friends and the bride and groom to sit on their own or with the bridesmaids and groomsmen

i imagine his parents were keen for him to marry someone they could also control - and of course Nicolas family means they lost total control

i genuinely hope he is happy tbh

MidWayThruJanuary · 19/01/2026 20:27

@BatchCookBabe
What is true is that they have put their children front and centre of their brand all their lives, denying their children a right to a private childhood. And they are still doing it with Harper.

JacknDiane · 19/01/2026 20:28

I totally believe him. Hopefully his brothers and sister will gain the courage to do what he has done, once they see the light.

Passingthrough123 · 19/01/2026 20:28

GarlicSound · 19/01/2026 20:19

If he's so keen to distance himself from his birth family, why hasn't he changed his name??

Because it's his name?

He is referring to his and Nicola's grandmothers.

Pretty sure he means his and Nicolas grandmothers? Not childcare nannies

I always felt it got worse when they had harper - the cherished daughter!!

agree it’s different from Harry because Brooklyn’s upbringing was a choice

sunflowersheart · 19/01/2026 20:28

I always really disliked Brooklyn but this is the first time I have ever had some respect for him and I believe him.

I am not in the least bit surprised that posh is a controlling nightmare but who knew she was like the British version of Ed Gein's mother?! 😂
