What's actually good on Red Letter Days?

We had some vouchers for a big birthday last year and booked in to a spa hotel. Turned out to be AWFUL - run down, dirty and cold with poor service. We complained to RLD and got our vouchers back so now have them to spend again.

I'm avoiding spas and hotels as the names that I know on there (various local places) are of a muchness with the place we visited last year - poorly maintained and just not a nice place to spend time.

Is there anything you've done recently through RLD that was nice and worth doing? I'm aware there's loads of choice but hoping for a personal recommendation or two.

I’d like to know this too!

i got given one last year and thought maybe using it to go the theatre. But interested if anyone has had any amazing experiences they’d recommend.

Did you read reviews of the spa hotel on tripadvisor/google before booking?

TBH, I have no idea what RLD offers now or that they were even still in business! Some things I've done in the past, but really can't recall if via RLD or another site:
-Gliding experience
-Learn to fly a plane experience. I bought the 4 seater plane so I sat in the back and DH got to fly it- with instructor obviously
-Sailing info on quite a large ship. I think it was from Southampton and about 10 guests on there

Not much help but a hopeful bump to someone that does know.

We did but obviously not carefully enough - loads of positive old reviews then some very negative recent ones, but still averaging 4.5 because it counts the old ones too 😔

Just looking at local options. I can drive a super car, have a photoshoot, eat at a chain pub or have bottomless brunch.

It does look like there are a couple of boat trips, though, which look nice.
