Carer camera recommendations please

Does anyone use a carer/nanny camera, ideally not obvious, ie hidden but not permanently fixed?

Need it to keep an eye on a carer for a very vulnerable person.

As a carer I have no issue with cameras but why the need to hide it?
Just be honest and tell the company its there

Does the vulnerable person have capacity to agree to the camera being there and will they be aware it's there? If not it potentially could be considered a deprivation of the cared for person's liberty and require an authorisation from the Court of Protection?

Either way if you are putting a camera in you will need to tell the carers regardless.

Thank you both, maybe that's the way to go. We found the carer being quite rough even when I was there so am worried what they are like when we are not there...

@SafeguardingSocialWorker this is currently at home but I expect it will have to go residential in the near future

It still applies in a person's own home. Google 'Community DoLS'

Regardless - if you have already witnessed care you aren't happy with you need to address that directly.
