Vinted sellers not posting

YoungMacDonald · 17/01/2026 08:09

I’ve just had my third Vinted order auto cancelled by Vinted after the seller failed to post within the timeframe.

This is for 3 different sellers. All 3 items were low value - under £4.

Absolutely no contact from the sellers despite me sending a quick courtesy message the day before cutoff to make sure they had seen the sale. I’ve since noticed many 1 star auto reviews due to ‘sale not completed’ on their profiles but they still have an average of 4.5 stars so I’m not the only buyer they are doing this to.

Am I to assume that sellers can’t be arsed to go to a locker for a single low value item? If so, why advertise such low value items?

How long have the items been listed for? If an item has been listed for more than a month I normally ask the seller a question first to check they’re active, or check that they have recent positive feedback. Too easy for people to get enthusiastic, list a load of stuff, then basically forget about it.

We’ve had a big issue here with all the lockers being full, but I always contact the buyer to tell them if I’m having an issue.

I have recently had orders which have been sent, but not arrived. Vinted are saying the parcels are being sent back to the buyers. Of course, they have not received them. So I will now have to chase my money. It’s suddenly become a right pain and is putting me off

Look in your message thread and it'll tell you when they last logged in. The item listing tells you how long ago it was listed. Loads of people create accounts on mat leave or when having a clear out, sell a few things and then either forget it exists or lose their log in. Similarly I've had quite a few times when the seller has already taken the item to a charity shop and forgotten to remove the listing.

The items were all listed recently and one particular seller was active daily. It’s so disappointing if it’s because they can’t be bothered. Why list it in the first place.

Yes, a quick message is all that’s needed.

I have heard about these issues too. Luckily, I’ve not experienced it yet.

The weather was also pretty extreme in parts of the country over the last week to 10 days. I wouldn't be trudging through a snow drift to post a low-value parcel either.

I always sort items newest first. The 3 separate items not posted recently were all listed less than one week prior. The users had also been active and uploading new items daily.

Pah it’s just part of the gig. Most people aren’t doing Vinted to earn meaningful money, it’s a way to have a clear out and recycle a few pounds. I’m pathologically conscientious so always post parcels quickly but it’s not surprising if people can’t be arsed to keep on top of low value sales.

Branleuse · 17/01/2026 11:27

If something has been listed for a long time, I'll offer them a slightly lower price, so then If they aren't active on vinted anymore, they won't accept and I won't pay

thisoldcity · 17/01/2026 11:29

Vinted can be annoying I agree, but I've had some fantastic experiences and some great items so I think the odd negative is worth it over all. I like the way it's sort of amateurish and you are usually buying from normal people like yourself who are having a clear-out, but this is the downside of that I suppose. I used to Ebay, but much prefer Vinted now.

redsquirrel07 · 03/03/2026 18:48

I've had at least 25% of my recent purchases cancelled due to the seller not posting. I do find it annoying. I am picky (and cheap!) so spend a long time choosing items, only for them to be cancelled. I understand that in a small number of cases there is a valid reason, but generally if you've actively listed items then you need to be posting them, or take them down if you aren't selling them any more! Not difficult to do. Or at least drop me a message to let me know you are cancelling rather than just waiting till the posting deadline and it being automatically cancelled without a word.

Cherrysoup · 03/03/2026 20:48

I didn’t get something sent recently but Vinted didn’t do a refund, which they have done previously on non-sent items. I then cancelled the transaction, still nothing. Messaged Vinted, got an automated response saying it might take up to a week. Messaged the seller who immediately cancelled from her end and apologised for the inconvenience. Why sell it, then? Maybe something happened, I dunno, possibly the last thing on her mind, who knows what’s going on in peoples’ lives?

I’m disappointed with Vinted, tho, they’re meant to automatically refund if an item isn’t sent.

I did buy a dress for a quid this week, sent unbelievably quickly. It’s fab, very slinky, so I’m not going to stop using Vinted. Bought a fab green velvet jacket featuring hearts last week, a mere £5l Makes up for the not so successful buys.

Please tell me I'm not in the wrong here

I buy an item from an active member

She messages after a few days to say she no longer has the skirt and asks ME to cancel

I am pleasant and say thanks for letting me know

She then asks again if I'm going to cancel the order

I say no - she needs to cancel as it's due to her not having the item

She says "ok fine I've been nice to you if you want to make this harder for yourself and don't want your money back you can be stubborn, I'll leave this to go on for 7 days until it cancels"
"Next time ask before buying a 6 month old listing"

I replied telling her to remove a 6 month old listing next time and that I've been understanding

If she hadn't been active for ages then I'd get it but she's a very active member and I just find outrageous she's asking me to cancel because of her poor selling, she's trying to force me into cancelling when Vinted makes it clear it's her responsibility to cancel.

Momrage · 18/03/2026 07:28

Also had that recently too @redsquirrel07 apparently her "pet" died so she was unable to post anymore and could I cancel 🤔 I just didn't respond and let the time run out. Weirdly it's been something I'd been watching for ages and she'd just discounted it.

That's really poor, the thing is I can completely understand that sometimes people get rid of things or can't post but it does require their honesty and also requires them to take responsibility and cancel!
