Sun £9.50 holiday to Europe

If you've been abroad using this deal where did you go? I've had a really good look through what's available but struggling to make a decision, looking at south of France, Croatia or Italy.

I know it will cost a lot more than 9.50 but just after ideas for a good site for a cheap holiday preferably very near to a nice hot beach! Definitely looking for Europe rather than the UK, will be me, other half, two daughters aged 16 and 24.

£9.50??????? What does that include?

RiderGirl · 16/01/2026 15:48

So for example there's one in Italy in late June/early July you can extend the deal to make it a week and the cost is £61pp (flights extra).

Well. I wish my holidays weren’t accounted for already! Let us know where you choose.

I have no idea what a £9.50 holiday is. Do you mean the flights at £9.50? Can you include a link OP?

That sounds amazing but where is it? Is it walkable to places or do you need car hire? What's the accommodation like? Are there any hidden costs once there.

Sprogonthetyne · 16/01/2026 17:51

I think she means the ones where you collect the coupons in the sun newspaper. They can be good value, but not actually near £9.50.

I have been to Spain with them before. Not where your looking, but was a good week. However, popular weeks and locations go incredibly fast. If you scan the coads through the app, instead to typing in the coad words, booking opens earlier for you. If you've booked with them before (or know someone who has), you can also get a bonus coad, which means you reach enough coupons to book a day before everyone else.

Even with both of those things, and getting up at 5am to buy the last paper, all I managed to book was a week in April.

If you decide to do it, I'd pick as many parks as you can reasonably get to and would be ok with, and as many date options as you can. Rank them all in order of preference, them on the morning you get your last coad you can do some trial and error with the booking system to see what's available.

I didnt know they still did these! We did them all the time when dc were small. Never abroad though so can't help there.

Thanks for that - I'm not a Sun reader, however like a lot of people the cost of living is taking its toll so, like most, I'm trying to maximise what little money I've currently got available so that I can have a bit of enjoyment for my family.

I've never been on one of those holidays but I have been to Croatia - and where I went was absolutely beautiful!

GreenlandvsUSA · 17/01/2026 14:33

Many years ago - I’m thinking maybe 19/20 - we did something like this. We chose the south of France. The place we stayed was lovely and certainly worth the extra money that you need for other stuff such as travel, food etc. We sort of wrapped it round with hotels in different places either side of cheap holiday, and I think we maybe had 10 days altogether. But even without adding the extra days the holiday park we stayed in was well worth doing.

We’ve done loads. This year we’ve only booked Spain but last year we did lake Garda and Rome, and that year before Portugal, Pisa and two in the south of Spain.

Code. Wtf is a coad?

madaboutpurple · 17/01/2026 15:29

The thought of being on a holiday with people who read the Sun would put me off from applying.

laura246810 · 17/01/2026 17:39

Butlins do £39 breaks - 4 nights weekday 3 nights weekend self catering for a family of 4 during term time. Includes activities.

We will try that this year.

LeafHunter · 17/01/2026 17:42

Have you done Eurocamp before @RiderGirl. You might find the bunk bed rooms are a bit tight for ages of your daughters. I have a feeling they’re designed for under 12s, although I’m sure lots of people will say their adult kids have slept in them.

oustedbymymate · 21/01/2026 14:54

Any one got the codes please?
