Taking medication before finding out your pregnant

Hi my cousin is having a bit of a panic, she was prescribed Norethisterone period delay tablets before a holiday and took a pregnancy test before starting them which came back negative. They were taken for about 2 weeks. After returning from holiday she discovered she was pregnant. Although she had an early scan and another at 12 weeks, which showed a strong heart beat and no problems so far. Now she’s worried that the baby might be harmed. Has anyone been in a similar situation or know of anyone who has been and did it affect the baby? It’s difficult when you didn’t know you were pregnant.

Talk to doctor or midwife. They can advice her better than MN.

Don't ask advise here, speak to GP or midwife.

I believe she has mentioned it and although everything seems alright so far, I wanted to hear from other people’s real life experiences. The clinical studies don’t always match the same situation. I think one health professional mentioned a study on baboons, but he wasn’t sure if it was patients using the medication long term or short term.
