DLA to PIP confusion ?

Dd has received dla since she was 2. We are moving to PIP. Her dla continues while we are applying.
In the claim call they asked can they look at her dla records to help with the claim. I said yes.
I’ve had a letter stating they cannot find any of her DLA records and medical info so they can’t use that . I called and was told no they can’t see anything?

She's still getting DLA!
The claim number is the same ?!
Its the same department (DWP?)

So why did they ask to access the dla info and are now saying it doesn’t exist . I’m so confused !

Just gather it up and send them all you have. If they are saying they don’t have it there isn’t much you can do but provide it tbh.

I'm really surprised they asked, I've always been under the impression that they are administered completely separately and don't cross check records. I know DLA renewals have to be done "from scratch" every time because they're treated at/looked at as a brand new claim and don't take any of the past evidence into account.

Anyway could you do what I was advised when DLA said they had "lost" our renewal (including medical records and copy of EHCP) one year, and threaten to report the DWP to the Information Commissioner? They "found" our renewal and evidence less than 24 hours later
