Is it possible to change a pdf to a xml file?

@Ladymuckypuddle does the PDF contain some text that is in XML? What’s the reason for wanting to turn the PDF into XML?

HMRC are asking for the file to be sent over to them as a xml file 😭

Is this for company accounts?

You would likely need to go to the software in which you generated the PDF and look to see if there is an option for exporting the data in XML format suitable for submitting to HMRC.

What software are you using? It might be called an XBRL file rather than an XML file.

If it's company accounts then you will need software or to pay for a conversion by accountants. An xml file includes hidden flags that describe what each number relates to.
