Pub for wake near Thatcham

My DF has just passed away. Can
someone local to Thatcham please recommend a pub with parking to hold his wake? Looking at somewhere that serves good food. We did use the Halfway House on A4 for my Mum which was excellent but that has closed. I am not local to area hence question.

I have been to a couple of friend’s wakes held at the Berkshire Arms in the last few years which is almost next to the Thatcham crematorium. I remember it being good and very handy as it’s was so close so no long drive somewhere afterwards. Looking at the trip advisor reviews people say the same thing. Hope that helps. The Angel on A4 or The Rowbarge are lovely pubs that are about 15 miss out of Thatcham.
The Angel has a back room for hire if you wanted a more private area
