I try so hard to ignore the celebrities on Instagram etc. but have given in from time to time. At the moment I am getting hundreds of adverts from all sorts of shelbs trying to get me to buy Heights which I think are vitamin supplements. I'm interested in what have you been influenced to buy & has worked & what you regretted.
For me....
Purley & Fig were a terribly expensive rip off but Ancient & Brave collagen does seem to be going a good job

tell me yours.........

Mould Magic!

Mumofteensandcats · 15/01/2026 13:25

Boring as heck but that triangular shaped scraper that gets fluff and fur out of carpets-cost £3 and is amazing!

FrothyCothy · 15/01/2026 13:47

There was a great thread on this last year. Mine was a dip powder nail kit - have never had nice nails before but I can do them myself now and love it.

Seagullstopitnow · 15/01/2026 13:56

Ancient and brave for me too!
I actually have to trim my nails now, they used to just split. It's almost flavourless in a strong coffee too

@FrothyCothy which nail dip brand do you use? I really want to give these a go. Are they difficult to remove?

Prime Prometics mascara. Saw it on Susannah Constantine's IG video and it's insanely good. Expensive but doesn't budge. Same with their eyeliner.

Sassy Saints. There’s definitely a learning curve when first starting out but after a couple of goes it’s quite straightforward. Removal - well, I did the acetone soak thing for the first few sets but honestly now once they start lifting a couple of weeks in I tend to gentle pry them off!

I think I need this!

Purdy & Figg…destroyed my worktops, definitely do not recommend!

Karcher window vac is a game changer for me.

user593 · 15/01/2026 14:44

Violette FR Bijoux Balm. I was expecting it to be terrible given how heavily they were advertising it but I love it.

I’ve just started taking Ancient & Brave. I don’t recall seeing an advertisement for it but maybe it went in subliminally!

What worktops do you have?

oh that does look good. Liking the mulberry & brown. Do you buy it directly from Prime or is it cheaper through other sites?

I don't know Susannah Constantine's video - what is IG???

The Laura mercier under eye brightening/blurring powder. The pink one. I’m 45 and never really used concealer or powder under my eyes before but I have aged so much recently and have awful bags as I’m not sleeping well. I was totally influenced to buy this and wasn’t expecting it to be so good. It’s brilliant, I look like me again!

Edited

No idea if it's available elsewhere but I went direct. IG means Instagram.

TruckersLuck · 20/01/2026 12:52

Astonish Mould & Mildew remover - brilliant stuff!

Tubing mascara

Vax Spot Washer - really worth it, sorts out puppy piddle accidents, cleans the carpet and sofa cushions so good

Using a Kabuki brush to apply foundation… major improvement

FrothyCothy · 20/01/2026 12:54

Oh yes, the elf tubing mascara was a recommendation on here

Ches Editions hair oil. Saw it on Instagram and have always been skeptical of hair oils but the post seemed so genuine, I bought the smaller bottle of it. Nearly at the end of one bottle and I’ve genuinely noticed a massive difference in my hair being thicker and just healthier looking. And it’s 100% natural (as in properly natural; with a certification!!)

on the other hand probably one of the most expensive ‘influenced’ purchases I made was a Dyson hoover and I really regretted it. The hype was for nothing, wasn’t any better than my old hoover really and then broke after about 8 months….
