Was planning on putting cubed beef in the slow cooker this morning but it's still half frozen, what shall I do?

I've only recently purchased a slow cooker having always been a bit hesitant due to having issues with food hygiene (I'm always worried about food poisoning due to chronic gut issues, arfid and OCD issues). I've always been scared it won't get hot enough to kill bacteria!

So I've cooked cubes beef in it a few times, always pan fried first (from fresh) then in the slow cooker on high for 5-6 hours. Always been good.

However, dh had frozen the fresh cubed beef last week, got it out last night and placed it in the fridge to defrost. I'm just about to pop into the slow cooker and am frying the beef but as it plopped into the frying pan I noticed it's still quite frozen in places. Google tells me not to place frozen beef in the slow cooker and not half frozen either so I'm continuing to pan fry it but not sure for how long and how safe it will be to place in the slow cooker. I was planning on 6-7 hours on high?

Do you think this will safely cook through. I know I sound paranoid but I really am when it comes to fear of food poisoning.

Pan frying will thaw it, just make sure it is all well browned and not still frozen in the centre. Then it will be fine in the slow cooker.

You can pan fry frozen beef, just takes longer

Thank you. I'm cooking it in the pan with the gravy atm so fingers crossed.

I'll just keep it on the hob for a while then pop it in the slow cooker before I leave at 11. Hopefully that will cook it through then I'll stick it on high before I get back later this afternoon.

Just chuck it in. It will be cooking for presumably 8 hours so will be plenty cooked through.

Just put it on the slow cooker. It will defrost and then cook as normal.

If you absolutely have to defrost it then put it in a bowl of warm water. It will defrost quickly.
