Anyone else work for an ICB?

It's awful isn't it? We're waiting for the new organisational structures to come out in the next week or so, but until then it's dire.
Working with people who have taken VR and quite understandably have one foot out of the door, while knowing those of us left are just waiting for the chop.

And, of course, trying to do our work to the best of our ability for the benefit of the NHS and it's patients. It's exhausting.

I don’t but I’m sorry to hear this. That sounds awful.

Just bumping this. Put in my VR applications 2 weeks ago. Fingers crossed …

I know and work closely with people who do. I feel sorry for staff as it wasn’t long since the last restructure. People seem to cheer when back office jobs in particular are cut in the public sector but they don’t realise the valuable work people do. They think the NHS should just be doctors and nurses but they have no idea about all the background work behind the scenes.

I do but am retiring early as part of the ICB reset. It is difficult for those of us leaving sooner than we had planned but I am conscious that my remaining colleagues will have a bumpy year or two as we are working at full pelt now and half of us are leaving. It will some time for new priorities to be finalised and new teams across clusters to find the best way to work together.

TheGander · 18/02/2026 19:12

Yes my ICB is clustering too.

If we want any doctors and nurses left to do the frontline work then we need to leav people in the back offices planning and making savings otherwise it will fall over
