What would you choose?

We home educate and are a family of five, and we’re hoping to move house this year. We’re completely stuck between two choices: a bigger house with a bigger mortgage (meaning DH would need to work full time), or a smaller house but with much more flexibility, allowing him to work part time or only part of the year. We keep going round in circles and can’t decide which option is best. What would you do?

Option 2 provided the house had scope to extend.

Options 2, so long as you all fit comfortably

Definitely the smaller house if you can all fit comfortably.

Option 2 if you can live comfortably and the house can accommodate your lifestyle.

Option 2

Option 2 it is—unanimous! Thanks so much, everyone, for your input 😊

Smaller definitely.

I think this depends on:

  • How old you are
  • How small the small house is

Personally I'd go for the bigger house if it meant everyone could have their own room and the smaller one didn't.
