What are the really good brands out there? I need something for my bones because I'm feeling so old and brittle lately. Amazon has tons but I have no idea what's genuinely good? What have fellow MNers tried? I don't know where to start..! TIA

I tried collagen- no difference.
My rheumatologist recommended glucosamine which I take, and it's a lot cheaper!

@ILikeDinosaurs Hi.
I have considered collagen in the past, but I've read that collagen is best obtained from animal sources. Vegan collagen does not actually contain collagen. The vegan supplements often include amino acids, vit C and minerals that help in collagen synthesis. I believe it’s best to get collagen from natural foods, seeds, soy, berries, oranges, etc. I'm still looking but can't find the best one.

@FuzzyPuffling May I ask which type of collagen you take? Thanks.

Recent studies are actually showing promise with vegan collagen - recent ones don't just create the building blocks anymore.

That said, be aware of who may have commissioned the studies 🙂 (I haven't looked at them in any real depth yet!)

At the moment OP I've just started with Feel collagen (mainly because it tastes like fizzy Haribos 😂) but not been on it long enough to recommend/see results yet.

Glucosamine & chondroitin helps my joints

@PickledPup thank you for sharing.

@FuzzyPuffling hi. I meant glucosamine. Don't know how to correct and replace the word 'collagen'. Still a newbie.

FuzzyPuffling · 13/01/2026 18:03

I just buy whatever's going in the supermarket or online.
Sorry, that's possibly not much help!

I use feel too. I'm not good enough with it to say if it helps though 🤦🏽‍♀️
