Has anyone bought an outside postbox for parcels?

So sick of problems with parcels being misdelivered ( won't have a rant, would take too long!). Been thinking about buying a secure post box that goes next to the front door, so I won't have to worry anymore. Just wondered if anyone has tried one and any recommendations? They're quite expensive, so I'd like to do some research before I invest in one. Thanks in advance

I'd be very interested in this too.

Also how do they actually work ? I presume they have a combination lock that you share the number with the delivery company but do they actually put stuff in there, given that most delivery companies don't read the instructions I leave for them

We have one. When we bought our current home, the people before us had one but took it with them. We thought it was a great idea so got one too! I will say this though - very few delivery people lock it up.

Ours you leave open and they turn the lock once they put the stuff inside (there’s a code in place of a signature) and then we open it with a key.

reality is most don’t lock it.

I had assumed that you would have to give a code to the delivery person and that it would then auto lock when closed.

I've seen ones that have a drop mechanism, you open it at the top and it swings out with a shelf, then when it closes the package drops down into the base and can only be retrieved by opening the bottom door with a key. I think that only really works for small-ish packages though.
