Labels on clothing

Does anyone else find labels which are sewn into the neck of clothing completely irritating?
I’ve just sat and meticulously unpicked the labels of a few items of clothing.
I haven’t done all my clothing as it’s so time consuming.
The ones I’m talking about are the ones that itch and make you scratch.
Why can’t they just sew them into the side seam of clothing?
Infact all the ones I’ve removed do have other, softer labels sewn elsewhere. So why the need for the stiff neck labels?
I appreciate they may not irritate everyone, but they really irritate my skin. Also, why are they sewn on with what seem like a thousand tiny stitches which are very difficult to remove?

Totally agree

Yep. Mind you I am ND and have been told it might be linked to that…

Yes I hate them. I much prefer the trend of printing the size on the neck rather than on a label.

I don't mind the labels which are attached by a couple of wee stitches at each end relatively easy to remove. The ones that are stitched all the way round though are awful.

Yes. I bought some vests from m&s and they had long labels on the side which I had to cut off and ended up making holes in the vests.

Not really except one particular one which was scratchy and hard in the side of the body. I did cut that out.
but Dh and dc2 remove most of the labels in their clothes as they can feel them and it drives them both crazy.
I don’t really feel them and I suppose if I do they don’t bother me enough to take action!

Yes, some are worse than others. I’ve ruined my two cashmere jumpers by trying to cut the ruddy labels and ended up with two small holes in the neck. Cotton labels no issue, but the paper or plastic ones are just awful. Dh and dc also cut them out.

Yes, Me too. My DH hates the labels too.

I totally get what you mean, they’re so irritating! I usually remove them myself, but when they’re sewn in too tightly it can be a bit of a struggle. It would be so much easier if brands just printed them, not sure why they don’t.
