Not sure if this is the beat place to add this, but I purchased a Hotpoint fridge freezer about 5 weeks ago. I followed the steps - kept it unplugged for 12 hours, then switched on and left for a day. I'm paranoid about food safety, so I kept thermometers in both the fridge (set to 3°) and freezer (set to -18°). After the first day, the freezer temp was perfect, but the fridge never went lower than around 6°
I called Hotpoint, but they said this was normal for the first few days.
Over Christmas I kept an eye, but nothing changed and with the hectic season, I forgot about it all.
Today, the milk had gone off prematurely and I checked the fridge thermometer was showing 7°! Checked the freezer compartment drawers and they're all -30° to -35°
What am I doing wrong? The fridge and freezer aren't over full. Very little food! We never put anything hot in the fridge either.
I've tried resetting by turning off for 15 mins, I've tried changing the desired temperatures around, but I now feel I received a faulty product. Any ideas?
