Definitely Longley farm. I blitz it into homemade curried sweet potato soup at the end to add protein.

Another vote for Longley farm. M&S good too but they add cream to one of them I think. Low fat cottage cheese I generally find vile

I toss it into a leaf salad. It replaces a dressing which saves some calories and is much more enjoyable than it sounds

youegg · 14/01/2026 07:39

Eat a spoonful then throw the rest in the bin. I know you wanted suggestions other than that but this is a sunk cost fallacy. It will totally ruin any other dishes or recipies you force it into and you will feel wretched about it.

BIN IT. Gavel

Also £1.95 at Ocado.

Not on that list but I saw it in Sainsbury's this morning, but this is in Yorkshire, where it's an everyday product that's in most shops, not some hard to find unicorn that people chase wistfully after.

But to answer the OPs question I, assuming it's Longley Farm, because none of the others are edible, often just have it as a portable breakfast or lunch, either just picking up a normal size carton when out and about or taking some in a tub, perhaps with cucumber, cherry tomatoes, black pepper and a drizzle of olive oil.

LF has become easier to get in the south in the last few months, everywhere except Sainsburys seems to sell it now.

I have to admit to being one of those weird people who just eats it out of the tub with a spoon, standing at the fridge. Love cottage cheese.

Me too! Lovely with a spoon of branston in it too šŸ˜‹

I've never been able to find Longley Farm but my Tesco do a Polish version and I absolutely love it!

I don't think Tesco do either. But Morrisons, M&S, Iceland all do.

Illbefinejustbloodyfine · 15/01/2026 18:47

My Longley farm search continues. Not in Tesco, Sainsbury, Co op, M & S or Morrisons. Tesco do the polish one though so i will try that

My lithuanian colleague has pots of cottages cheese with fruut puree, like a yogurt corner.

This is a nice recipe, if you like beetroot and curry

Thelnebriati · 15/01/2026 22:12

@Illbefinejustbloodyfine Do you have an Asda near you? They stock Longley Farm cottage cheese.

H202too · 15/01/2026 22:23

I have a langley farm every day for lunch. Protein gains. I couldn't do this with any other brand and has to be the full fat one.

Kitterkitkat · 15/01/2026 22:29

I had it about 2 years ago, recipe for baked tortilla with spinach, eggs, tomatoes etc.

The cottage cheese was actually really nice but I didn't drain it enough for the tortilla 'pastry'.

Tintackedsea · 15/01/2026 22:31

Longley farm on Pringles.

Jugendstiel · 15/01/2026 22:37

Mixed with Italian seasoning or finely chopped spring onions and chilli flakes on baked potato. Or on dark ryvita, with similar toppings. Love it as either of these.

Fizbosshoes · 15/01/2026 22:38

I like it with marmite, or prunes, ...but obviously not together!
And agree it has to be Longley farm

Empty the pot into a bowl, fill the pot with eggs, throw them in the bowl. Blast it with a hand blender. Pour it into a press dish and add in finely chopped Peppers, veg, ham, cheese etc that’s lying arrive waiting to be used on the fridge. Cook it on 160c until the middle is cooked. Then slice it and eat it. Keeps great in the fridge and is perfect fitter packed lunches too.

This is exactly the sort of thing I did this morning with a tub (and what I was going to post here). Very nice too :)

Blend with smoked mackerel, pepper and a bit of horseradish to make a pate

canuckup · 16/01/2026 02:48

I use it in quiche

soupyspoon · 16/01/2026 13:55

The reviews arent very good for that bread, shame as I got quite excited by that

momtoboys · 16/01/2026 13:57

I love CC! With fruit and nuts on top. With siracha or chili crisp with veg.

It needs to be longly farm, or else there's no point.

100% this
