Sainsburys fail

Had a delivery booked for today.
Got an SMS message saying "bad luck, it's not happening. Please call us".
Called them.
Automated service said "Delivery is arriving today".
Online website also says order being delivered today.
"If you want to speak to us, press #1"
Press #1 - this is at 9:20am
"We are closed. We will open again at 9am"

Just me ?

I was due a Sainsbury’s delivery this morning. I’ve had an email saying there was a problem with my order and it was cancelled, then a text message saying sorry the order for today is cancelled.
I contacted customer services and it’s due to the weather and road conditions around us.

I contacted customer services at 9:30 to get a recorded message saying they were closed and would be open from 9:00

This was AFTER the text telling me to call them and an automated message confirming my delivery - which contradicted the text.

@VeloHostageit seems their communication with me was far clearer than yours which makes no sense. Not very helpful when you’re not sure what’s happening.

Well quite. I mean I have shopped with Sainsbury long enough to know the depths of their incompetence. But this is a new low.

It's now 37 minutes to my delivery time and the automated service is still saying it's due. And still saying they open at 9.

I think they have tech issues today. Their site was glitching for me. Said I didn't have a stored address. Appeared logged out and then logged in. Slots all full then not.

Oh, I know it won't. Which is why a duplicate order has already been locked for next week.

Sainsburys badly let me down over COVID. However when compared with neighbours against Tesco, ASDA, Ocado and Morrisons, they are all equally pants.

It's more annoying today as a neighbour kindly cleared my path and pavement yesterday to ensure a clear run. That and the local whatsapp saying all the roads seem OK now.

Not massively short of anything, so it's a first world problem.

wee update is that Sainsbos issued a £5 discount (i.e. free delivery) to make up for it.

Mysteriously I am a lot less annoyed now.

I hear from neigyhbours that Morrisons did nothing.
