no medical issues or RSI, I just cannot seem to type as well anymore. I often type words with the correct letters but in the wrong order and there is now always so much to type with the huge increase in emails/teams messages etc. I have 3 mailboxes to manage and Christ knows how many teams chat/groups/channels I need to respond to/update. Not to mention the whatspp chats, facebook messenger, home email etc.

I am sick of typing and cannot be bothered ..but everything has to be recorded/documented .. sigh ..

anyone else resonate ?

I had an appointment recently where instead of typing the person spoke into a dictaphone type thing which seemed to input text into her computer for her. She used the mouse as well so it was going into the computer, and she switched to the keyboard to do things like type in names and addresses where the spelling is sensitive, but she mostly used the voice to text thing. Perhaps you could get something like that?

Do you add the corrections to Autocorrect? It definitely helps.

The keyboard could be worn out as well - if one key takes longer to depress than the next, that could also mean it registers the sceond key first (IYSWIM).

My major complaint is about the number of keyboards that come without a keypad now. I've had to learn to use the numbers line for the first time in 30 years.

I m 81 and my hands are arthritic. I have been finding this for the last few years and I used to touchtype before I began on computers. On forums like this it does not really matter (except to the keyboard police and we all know how much they are respected). As OP says often the letters sometimes come out in the wrong order. I do private tutoring so when I am in teaching mode I have to make sure any communications I send to my students are correct. However they are all international and spelling mistakes are par for the course. You can only stress the importance of using autocorrect and spell checking. Its the finished product which counts.
