Making life more magic and whimsical

I am very fortunate to look back at my childhood and really see how magical and whimsical and fun my mum made my childhood.
Not with gifts as such but she put such lovely effort into special celebrations but also made things magical on a random Tuesday (for example hiding crystals in the garden and putting together elaborate set ups to make me truly believe that the fairies had left them there for me). She's no longer with us now so I can't pick her brain or have the joy of watching her create that.
Now I have my own 6MO DC there isn't much I can do yet to add magic to her everyday just yet but is there anything special that you did that could be counted as making a little bit of magic for your kids? Anything you had done for you as a child that could fall under that umbrella?

Make believe and a bit of decorating is all you need really. For example cut loads of leaf shapes, decorate the lounge and set up a camp in a forest or jungle. Their imagination can do the rest.

This book is amazing for magical outdoor ideas: https://www.awesomebooks.com/book/9780711237131/woodland-adventure-handbook?dwg=Cj0KCQiApfjKBhC0ARIsAMiR_IuEBHSoPymNQDfmA1bIUn7EigyRZi3qg345zkksh4vfV9zxNZMwUCkaAukdEALw_wcB&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=22269009095&gclid=Cj0KCQiApfjKBhC0ARIsAMiR_IuEBHSoPymNQDfmA1bIUn7EigyRZi3qg345zkksh4vfV9zxNZMwUCkaAukdEALw_wcB

Adam and Marie run the woodland adventure company just outside York: https://www.thewoodlandadventurecompany.co.uk/about-us. My kids have had many happy and magical adventures hunting giants, making fairy houses and bog babies, etc with them. I bought the book as it gives you great ideas to try their activities at home.
