Debenhams -absolutely appalling ‘customer service’!

I am at a loss as to what to do now so would welcome any advice. I purchased two bottles of aftershave for for DS’s for Christmas from Debenhams online. They never arrived. After various emails from Evri, who said they could not locate them and that I had to go back to Debenhams for a refund. Well, trying to get hold of Debenhams has been a NIGHTMARE! There is no phone number. I have emailed multiple times and got nowhere apart from a bot email thanking me for getting in touch and someone will get back to me. No one has got back to me. I’ve tried msging via their instagram etc and nothing. I spent £160 and have nothing to show for it. Does anyone have any advice? I can’t believe a big company like Debenhams is treating customers like this!

By way of an update. I have FINALLY received a refund via my bank. No word at all from Debenhams. Absolute bastards. Six weeks and nothing. I will be purchasing the aftershave’s again from a more reputable company in person. I will NEVER use Debenhams' or any associated company ever again and I wound advise everyone to do the same!

Did you try resolver and twitter?

It’s a farce that brand names like this can be bought. They went bust years ago.

I wish I'd read this thread before. I recently ordered from Oasis not realising it has changed ownership. Four items. Three have turned up fine from Evri. The forth is no where to be seen. It is not being delivered by Evri.

Looks like I have some fun to look forward too.

Yup so many brands gone :(

If it hasn’t got a high st shop it’s likely like that now. Online with crap service

I've contacted Resolver. I don't know how they get away with it! I wonder how much money they make from people who just give up?

I've just got a few more days to wait before my credit card company will begin a chargeback.

I had to send a final message saying my goods were available for collection.

The man on the end of the phone said "Debenhams - doesn't surprise me. We're getting loads for them at the moment"

I want to do a chargeback but still have the items! The QR code for return didn't work and I'm trying to get a new one. I'm still going to try a charge back as the goods are useless to me!

Glad to read this as I used to buy from them a lot and had no idea they had gone so down hill. But tbh I think it’s customer service across the board these days. I’ve just had pure hell with Beko over a freezer that stopped working inside warranty and they were beyond awful. And Catherine Ryan talking about BA on her podcast was shocking and that was for a business class customer!

It feels like customer service is a thing of the past. I shop local as much as I can because it’s the only way to deal with real people these days and also supports local businesses.

That's why I'm doing mine.

Debenhams (the third party seller using their website) won't give me a returns label.

I had 2 months of that @RedToothBrush

Give up and begin the chargeback process.

Hurray!

I received my refund back in my bank the same day I posted on this thread/told Debenhams I was beginning the chargeback process.

Amazing what they can do when they're actually forced, isn't it?
