I’m off work this week so chilling nicely. Peeled spuds for mash this morning so all I have to do is cook them & some peas to go with Pieminister steak & ale pies. Gravy just for me. DD17 will sort herself out, probably a baked potato with beans. She’s full of cold with a chesty cough so feeling rather sorry for herself. DH is in a weird mood & has frankly pissed me off a bit. He’s just finishing an indoor bike ride. We’ll watch Corrie then some more episodes of “ The Good Doctor”.

Excellent. I’m in the pub waiting for three mates and then we are going to Bowie’s Birthday at the Jazz Cafe

Hoppinggreen · 07/01/2026 19:25

Great, DH is going out to do his (incredibly outing) hobby and The Teens are unlikly to emerge from their rooms so The TV Remote is ALL MINE!!!!!

But I am having to miss the Traitors 😢

Been running around London for meetings all day so I’m currently warming up in front of the fire under a blanket, watching the new Lucy Worsley documentary whilst my DP is making a lovely cosy dinner for us both, followed by a very early night with a good book.

Antaes · 07/01/2026 19:32

Just chilling with my man watching TV and soon going walk our doggie
Then bed time as early start at work 😊

Kitterkitkat · 07/01/2026 19:36

The radiator nearest me doesn't work; bit annoyed about that. Had a lovely dinner and watching The Fall underneath a blanket.

Tea required if the radiator won't perform. I'm sure it's something simple like it's on timer but the lit up panel isn't clear.

mamaduckbone · 07/01/2026 19:36

I’m absolutely knackered after first proper early start since Christmas and a terrible nights sleep last night, so it will be a bath and early night for me.

murasaki · 07/01/2026 19:38

Haggis macaroni cheese in the oven, football on the telly, wine in glass. All good.

BeingATwatItsABingThing · 07/01/2026 19:40

5yo is asleep, 1yo is nearly asleep and the 12yo sorts herself. Dinner is all finished and tidied away, lounge is mostly all tidy again and I’m on the final countdown to The Traitors. Seems pretty good except I feel like crap - cold, shivery and achy.

SENcatsandfish · 07/01/2026 19:45

Kids are fed and quite settled and happy. Im watching The Beast within me on my phone whilst pottering. I'll put the youngest to bed soon

DemonsandMosquitoes · 07/01/2026 19:47

All quiet. DH is in London. DS1 away on business with his grad role in Lisbon for the first time (he’s 23 so very proud!), DS2 gone back to uni in York and I’m on here under my heated blanket. It’s my birthday tomorrow. Retiring in 12 months at 55 so feeling excited I’m heading into my last year of work (NHS).

UndoRedo · 07/01/2026 19:48

Wine, left over chicken pasta (I'm a great cook) and finishing Down Cemetery Road with no kids or anyone else to disturb me.

SpodeFan · 07/01/2026 19:49

Bruised after slipping on the ice this morning. Luckily only a sprained wrist and sore backside.

Kids had supermarket pizza as a consequence which is pretty rare so they’re happy!

I had a glass of medicinal red with my dinner, followed by a hot shower and now in bed ready to pick up my book. The dog who indirectly caused the slippage is happily snoring at my feet unaware of anything HmmSmile
