Sudden rash on DS' legs. What does it look like to you?

I've just had a call from DS' school to inform me of a rash that has come up today. It wasn't there this morning. He's fine in himself. Suffice to say I'm going to have him checked over when he gets home but I'm baffled as to what it could be, does it look like an allergic reaction to you? We've all had various colds etc lately so viral is possible? It's very itchy.

Pic attached.

If he's well in himself, looks like an allergy/ contact irritation of some kind to me. Have you changed washing powder? Disclaimer I have kids with sensitive skin but am not an HCP.

I'd give him some piriton and see if that helped. Looks like an allergic reaction or insect bites (but I'd say that's less likely given the time of year and presumably he's not rolling around in the long grass!).

It looks like an allergic reaction to me. I’d call into the chemist and ask for pharmacist to have a look at it.

Thanks all, the pharmacist has said the same. He's had some antihistamine and ill keep an eye on it.

It's solely on his legs and he happens to be wearing brand new off the hanger school trousers this morning, usually we would wash new clothes before he wears them. I think it may be the trousers.
