Jason Manford’s Charity Ninja
Jason Manford highlights real JustGiving in his Facebook group and asks people to donate £2 anonymously.
The idea is simple: lots of people giving a small amount can make a big difference to someone raising money for charity.
He's doing this about twice per week in the evening. I think the idea is the cause gets bumped overnight so the organiser wakes up and their target is met!
He says the fundraisers are verified before he gets behind them. They stay on the facebook group for 24 hours but it’s usually less as the target is met quite quickly.

No, I’m not Jason nor a super fan. I just think it’s fantastic that someone is using their celebrity platform to do a tiny bit of good. More famous people could do this sort of thing.

Not sure he’d be thrilled about this going on Mumsnet …

ZenNudist · 06/01/2026 22:16

I just saw him in panto and he was very good.

hollyberrytree · 06/01/2026 22:17

Why not? Surely the more people that chip in £2.00 the better?

He frequently says to keep everything under the radar and not draw attention to it, especially with regards to him. I agree that the more people who know the more money that can be raised but it was growing anyway.

Brefugee · 06/01/2026 22:24

is there any accountability for these charities?

hollyberrytree · 06/01/2026 22:29

I don’t think there is an accountability in how the money is spent after it’s got to Just Giving. But I think it’s a risk I’d be willing to take for £2.00.
The half a dozen causes I have spotted since I learned of this seem very genuine to me. It’s things like buying electric wheelchair etc.

There is a live appeal now if anyone wants to take a look.
