What is your after school routine?

curious to hear from those who have smooth after school routines. My kids are 9 and 14. It’s quite stressful just trying to get them to do the basics like get out of their uniform, do homework etc. grateful for any tips.

My ds10 does homework in afterschool so that’s already completed when I collect him. Dd12 has to do homework before she can go to club/call to friends etc. but I don’t stand over her. She is in secondary school so she would suffer the consequences there if it’s not done.

getting out of uniform…I can suggest it but again I’m not going to make them. This isn’t something I would battle about.

What else are you have struggles with?

Dc are in 8 and 10, we get home about 4.30 Everyone gets changed, and if they want to be in their pyjamas then so be it. Dc play/ watch tv whilst I put dinner on. Eat dinner about 5.30. Homework (Tuesday and Friday). Play. Upstairs at about 7.30 to chill. In bed, lights off at 8.45 and they’re normally asleep by 9.30 latest
