Hello
My little one has been diagnosed with microdontia on his lower 2 bottom teeth. He had delayed teething which only came out at 10months and the 2 bottom ones are very small in size. Went to the dentist and he confirmed.
We have been asked to visit again in a few months after a few more teeth errupt Currently he has 4 teeth out of which 2 are normal sized.

I'm googling to find reasons and getting worried that when his real teeth come through will they be ok?

Has anyone been in similar boat? Did you find any underlying causes?? Does he need blood work done to find out underlying causes??
. No one that I know of In my family or husbands family have this. There is however hypothyroidism in the family and I have it aswell.

Have there been medical checks on the baby's thyroid? Or maybe your own hypothyroidism affected the baby's tooth development before birth. B A quick google shows there is a link between microdontia and hypothyroidism.

He had congenital thyroid checked at birth during the heel prick test which was fine but I've asked GP to check again so lets see whT they say.
