ASOS backing down on returns policy - anyone else?

So after being treated like a naughty school kid about a year ago and getting a very rude email from them saying I had broken fair usage policy and had to pay for returns (I had made 3 returns in 2 years). I have now had an email saying I no longer have to pay for returns.

Was wondering if others previously affected have had the same email? I haven't shopped with them since (and never will again). So maybe my boycott has made them want to get me back as a customer or has their policy backfired?

It'll be because your no longer making returns - if you were start again the same thing would happen

I won't shop with them again...they deleted my account because I hadn't used it for a few years and absolutely refuse to allow me to make a new one with my only email address, the customer service was bordering on rude!
I really wanted to order something that my niece had asked for for her birthday and wasn't available elsewhere so I did set an account up in my partners name to buy that for her but won't be shopping with them in future.
They certainly didn't seem desperate for custom when I contacted them. I suspect it's probably an automated email system that is linked to their fair usage policy that you've received and then another when a period with no returns has expired.

I’ve had that email today too - could be a blanket decision. I very rarely ordered with them because of the returns thing - I never took the piss but would often order two sizes because the sizing is so random.

Absolutely. If the sizing was more consistent they wouldn’t get so many returns. Or even if they had reviews so you could see if people say size up or down.

Oh I didnt have that email, I had the 'you've been extra naughty' email!

"From 6 January, you’ll be able to see your personal return rate in the ASOS app. This is calculated from the value of items you’ve returned compared to the value of what you’ve ordered over the past 12 months. It’s updated each time you place a new order, so you’ll always know where you stand.*

For customers with a return rate of 70% or above across 3 or more orders, the following applies:

- A £3.95 return deduction may apply if you keep less than £40 of your order. This replaces the previous £15 threshold for Premier customers.
- ASOS Premier cannot be renewed."

I lost weight a couple of years ago and have been trying to replace my wardrobe, hence the high returns rate! Been doing a LOT of Vinted but also a lot of ASOS because the free returns plus ASOS Prenier fast delivery plus so many brands i wear made it make sense.
I dont love anywhere near the brands that fit me or suit me to try on easily.
I've been an ASOS customer for... 16 years at this point and have spent a lot of money there.
But, okay. Its a good prompt to spend less and be more intentional as returns are bad for the planet!

I had the same email. However my friend had an email last year saying they weren't allowed to shop wtih them any longer. She had ordweed 3 times in the previous year but they closed the account!
Its really random and not good customer service so I don't shop with Asos very much anymore.

I have rarely ordered from ASOS and have never returned anything and had the same email today.

Had the email too! Haven’t ordered for a while and was already thinking they must be struggling, their marketing was sounding a bit desperate over the past couple of months I thought. Not tempted to order though.
