Two weeks in Feb - sunshine, swimming and remote working - where would you go? Not too pricey...

Just that really ... I can have the luxury of self-funding two weeks away in Feb. I'll be working 6-7 hours a day, and outside that I'd love to swim twice a day, eat healthy food and relax... so almost like a cross between treating it like a spa and a work holiday.

Where would you go? Or where have you been?

I've realised Im looking for:

  • enough warmth for swimming and sunbathing so not Egypt/Canaries
  • good wifi for work
  • a decent pool for swimming twice a day
  • relaxed as a solo woman
  • decent healthy food so I eat well and lose weight without really thinking about it
  • fairly quiet
  • interesting enough for wandering around - whether walking by the sea or exploring night markets... Im fairly easily pleased
And yes, not too expensive....

Why dont you just take 2 weeks leave and have a solo holiday ?

Africa if jet lag is going to be an issue.

But I'd just take 2 weeks off and go to Vietnam or Thailand!

my employer will allow a few weeks working abroad but only if you have the right to work in that country (ie you are a citizen of that country or have a visa that allows you to work) and it has been cleared by our tax team.

Do check you have the right to work wherever you’re going , the tax implications and whether your employer is ok with it.

Mexico City, huge numbers of people working remotely, beautiful leafy quiet areas, great food.

Sorry, should have said I'm self-employed. So definitely a work break. Time difference ok if not significant, ie a few hours.

And I will take holiday later in the year.

Budget definitely a concern but going to check out all suggestions! Amazed that Mexico City has beautiful leafy quiet areas, having been just once I think of it as huge and bustling and tough to get around!

@loveyouradvicei know, I was as surprised as you. But spent 10 days there on a part work trip/part holiday last year. Stayed in the Condesa/Roma area, honestly beautiful, quiet, full of charming cafes and restaurants all stuffed with Americans who are distance working from there.

Cape Verde will be warm, and only an hour time difference.
