Party - best date?

School Easter holiday this year is 27 March to the 21 April.

I’m wanting to host a dinner for around 10-12 of us, we’re all parents of children at the same school.

If it was you, would you prefer the 11 April, 18 April or the 2 May?

I think perhaps the 11 Apr is out because many people go away for Easter.

Do you think the 18 April is too close to term starting?

Are you in the UK? Because easter half term here doesn’t last for a month, it’s usually 2 weeks? I’d ask the party attendees and get a majority vote.

the other dates are in the middle of school holidays so more people likely to be away. Most schools will be back by the 11th so i think you've more chance of people from your school going 11-18th when it's quieter and cheaper.

All the same for me, but it would entirely depend on if your particular friends will be around. One of my dc’s birthdays is always during a half term and I’ve never had an issue with people not being able to attend because they’re away. Maybe 2 ever over the years. But you just have to ask your friends if they’ll be around.

I'd say May 2nd as it's outside of the school holidays so everyone will at least be around (even if they have other plans).

There's a bank holiday on 4th May too unfortunately! Personally I'd prefer it on 18th but 2nd likely to be the best option, although all are a bit risky.

Why not just WhatsApp the group and put a poll on with the dates?

from those dates I’d say 18th April
