Tips on toilet training an older pup please.

I’m taking a 6 month pup in a few days. I don’t want to go into details but it’s an emergency situation. Depending on how it goes we may keep him or may foster him until he finds another home. (Being honest I’ll probably keep him) I’m a very experienced dog owner but I’m used to older dogs not pups. Pups give me the fear and I’ve only had 2 before and I’ve forgotten everything about toilet training and he isn’t trained.
To make matters worse I’ve just moved to a flat, ground floor thankfully and there’s plenty of green space just outside and parks nearby and he’s a small dog but it isn’t ideal.
Any advice/tips would be much appreciated.
TIA

Have a look on dog training advice and support on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/share/g/1GxTmw7sKp/?mibextid=wwXIfr

it’s the one with 403k members if you want to search them up instead of clicking the link.

they’re a group run by qualified behaviourists who use a force free approach. There are guides to read and you can post for advice if you need extra support. They’ve also published a book with the guides in if you prefer. The book is called “dog training and behaviour solutions” by Sally Bradbury

I’ve just added more context to me post - honestly this group saved my sanity with my older puppy. There are premium smaller groups you can join where you can pay and get more targeted advice. I paid £20 a month and I could post whenever I wanted and one of the behaviourists would come straight back to me

Thank you. I’ll definitely be making use of that support page especially when I’m trying to remember exactly why I’m doing this to myself again.
