Heart rate high??

Heebeebee · 04/01/2026 23:25

My resting heart rate is usually anything between 85 and 100.

I looked it up and it says anything between 60 and 100 is normal but mine is way higher than anyone else who tried the monitor.

I am 42, around 18lbs overweight and truthfully pretty unfit.

Should I see my GP?

Why would you see your GP when you have a normal resting heart rate?

It doesn't matter what anyone else's is.

BlackCoffeeAndSugar · 04/01/2026 23:27

What would you want them to do?

Heebeebee · 04/01/2026 23:30

I’m just concerned because it’s right at the highest end of normal and everyone else was 60 to 70 even my 68 year old mum had a far lower heart rate than mine. Worried something could be wrong

Are you testing when you've been "at rest" OP? Make sure you've been sat down relaxing for ten mins before. If you're really worried it can't hurt to book a GPs app (if you can get one), they might put your mind at ease

I am 2 st overweight and mine is around 60. It is what it is, I think.

youalright · 04/01/2026 23:39

It just means its your normal.

Im overweight although not obese. Just done mine now and its 64 at resting heart rate. Few months back I was having palpitations and pounding heart and it turned out to be iron deficiency which has been treated and sorted. Has your heart rate always been that high or is it a recent thing?

Yes but it's still normal which is what they'll tell you.

Or they'll suggest losing weight may help.

First sign of a cold is a high heart rate, how do you feel?

Devilsmommy · 04/01/2026 23:55

Mine is normally resting at around 85. Not overweight but am a heavy smoker. Unless you're experiencing pains or palpitations then I'm not sure what you think the doctors can do
