Can an integrated washer/dryer be replaced by an integrated washing machine?

Have bought a house where there is an integrated washer/dryer. I don't like it and it makes my clothes smell funny, even though I don't use the dryer part of it. Could I replace it with an integrated washing machine (no dryer built in)? Or does it always have to be an integrated washer/dryer in that slot now?

Yes - you can put a standalone washing machine there!

Any integrated appliance would fit.
or as the other poster says, if you remove the door and cut the plinth away from that section, you can also fit a freestanding appliance in the space.
