Am I Alone In Thinking That The NYE Fireworks Are A Monumental Waste Of Money?

They looked great from what I saw ( fell asleep & missed the chimes!) but my goodness the cost must have been astronomical! I keep thinking of all the folks that could have benefited from all that cash . The display was literally money up in smoke!

To be fair pets are also terrible for the environment and wildlife…

I was in Central London on NYE, not for the big fireworks but for a party elsewhere.

Teams of volunteers were out with rucksacks of food, chatting to street homeless people and I heard one say they were going to go to a particular place where they would see the fireworks as they loved seeing them.

Our housing and welfare policies, and our civic activities have their own benefits and problems, it doesn’t have to be either or.
