Wrong parcel returned to Amazon

I had two parcels to return - a pair of jeans going back to Weekday and a pair of joggers back to Amazon. The Weekday jeans had to be returned via Evri drop off, the Amazon joggers I arranged Royal Mail pick up. My DH accidentally put the wrong package out for Royal Mail this morning so the Weekday jeans are currently winging their way to Amazon 😩

I’ve rung Amazon and they’ve sorted out another pick up for the joggers so that’s all good. When I asked about getting the jeans back the girl seemed a bit unsure but after some time on hold she came back and said that Amazon would not accept a non-Amazon package so it would be undeliverable and automatically be returned to me by Royal Mail. Does this sound feasible? I’m just not sure how this will work? I’m worried I’m just not going to get the jeans back and they were quite expensive.

I’ve got tracking on the jeans but I don’t think there is any way of intercepting the parcel and asking for it to be returned.

Any advice on what else I can do?

Was there a return address on the parcel?

@ToKittyornottoKitty - it was one where the
postman brings the label so I’m not sure as the parcel was just left on the doorstep for him to collect and I didn’t get to see it.

How would Amazon even no it’s not for them to reject it? Sounds more likely they’d accept it due to its postage label and then realise it’s not their product after

@ToKittyornottoKitty - yes, that’s what I was thinking too. I think the jeans are lost!

I think so too to be honest. Personally I always write my sender address on any parcels, especially if you don’t get to see the label yourself. Fingers crossed for you though OP

@ToKittyornottoKitty - thanks. As a last ditch attempt I’m going to visit the sorting office tomorrow morning and see if there is anything they can do.
